KUWAIT CITY - KUWAIT'S criminal court sentenced two policemen to 10-year prison terms on Tuesday after convicting them of raping two Asian women while on duty.

 
Global wages falling

GENEVA - REAL wages fell in the United States and some other wealthy nations in the second quarter of the year, raising questions about whether workers are sharing in any economic recovery, the UN labour agency said on Tuesday.

The International Labour Organisation said inflation-adjusted wage growth fell sharply around the world last year to 1.4 per cent, from 4.3 per cent in 2007. It said wages are falling in a number of countries so far this year.

Saudi to behead, crucify rapist

RIYADH - A SAUDI court has ratified the beheading and crucifixion of a young man who raped five children, among them a three-year-old boy left to die in the desert, a newspaper reported on Monday.

An appeal court in Riyadh approved the death sentence handed down in June by a lower court in Hail, where the convicted 22-year-old man carried out his crimes, Okaz newspaper said.

Karadzic attends tribunal

THE HAGUE - FORMER Bosnian Serb leader Radovan Karadzic appeared on Tuesday for an administrative hearing in his war crimes trial, temporarily giving up his boycott to ask for more time to prepare his case.
