SYRACUSE (New York) - A JURY in upstate New York has convicted a man of a hate crime for killing a transgender woman.

Dwight DeLee was found guilty of manslaughter for the fatal shooting of 22-year-old Lateisha Green outside a Syracuse house party in November because of anti-gay bias.

 
Chain saw used in lion attack

BILLINGS (Montana) - A COLORADO man used a chain saw to fight off an apparently starving mountain lion that attacked him during a camping trip in northwestern Wyoming with his wife and two toddlers.

Dustin Britton, a 32-year-old mechanic and ex-Marine from Windsor, Colorado, said he was alone cutting firewood about 30 meters from his campsite in the Shoshone National Forest when he saw the 45-kilogram lion staring at him from some bushes.

Teen plotted to bomb family

PITTSBURGH - A 17-YEAR-OLD boy from suburban Pittsburgh - who police say tried to kill his sleeping family last fall by placing homemade chlorine bombs in their beds - will be tried in juvenile court.

The bombs did not go off and no one was hurt.
