WASHINGTON - SECRETARY of State Hillary Rodham Clinton is warning Iran that it has only limited time to accept the Obama administration's offer of engagement or face new penalties and isolation over its nuclear program.

In remarks prepared for a major foreign policy address to be delivered Wednesday, Clinton says the time for Iran to respond to the US overture is now.

 
UNICEF toys for kids in strife

GENEVA - MADE in Denmark, three years of research, trials in seven countries and the best safety tests: little was spared by UNICEF in choosing toys for youngsters caught up in conflict and crisis zones.

The toys are part of an 'Early Childhood Development Kit' the UN Children's Fund unveiled on Wednesday, a 230-dollar treasure chest designed to cheer up children under the age of six who fall victim to humanitarian disasters.

Football fans trample woman

SALZBURG (Austria) - AUSTRIAN police say three Irish fans of Dublin football club Bohemians trampled an elderly woman, and the victim is fighting for her life in a hospital.

Officials in Salzburg launched a manhunt for the three, but said Wednesday they eluded capture despite police efforts to seal off the city's downtown Tuesday night.

UK jury convicts for terror

LONDON - A BRITISH jury has convicted a man who planned to attack people he considered 'non-British' of terrorist offenses.

The jury at London's Central Criminal Court found 43-year-old Neil Lewington guilty Wednesday of having explosives with intent to endanger life and preparing for acts of terrorism.
