NZ flu cases hit 258

WELLINGTON (New Zealand) - NEW Zealand has 258 confirmed cases of swine flu, and health authorities say 213 of those have been recorded in the past seven days.

Public Health Director Dr Mark Jacobs said in a statement on Sunday that most cases have been mild to moderate, but the country will see a big increase in cases in coming months.

Dreamliner test flight soon

WASHINGTON - US AEROSPACE giant Boeing is readying its 787 Dreamliner for first test flight in the coming days, banking on the new fuel-efficient plane to sail above stiff market headwinds.

Boeing expects the much-delayed Dreamliner to have its maiden flight by June 30 on a schedule that puts delivery of the plane to first customer, All Nippon Airways (ANA), in the first quarter of 2010.

Gunmen open fire at eatery

ALBUQUERQUE (New Mexico) - POLICE in Albuquerque say an employee has been killed after several armed suspects attempted a takeover-style robbery at a packed restaurant.

Police spokeswoman Officer Nadine Hamby says 'multiple' armed suspects rushed the Denny's Restaurant in northwest Albuquerque at about 9.30am Saturday (11.30pm Singapore time). As many as 100 people were inside.
