US regrets civilian deaths

KABUL - THE United States deeply regrets the deaths of civilians in Afghanistan, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said on Wednesday, after reports that US-led air strikes against insurgents had killed 100 people.

Girl forced into sex with dog

DAR ES SALAAM - TWO men and a woman employed by a Canadian mining company were jailed for 20 years each for forcing a 13-year-old girl to have sex with a dog, Tanzanian court officials said on Wednesday.

'I don't want to dig graves'

PESHAWAR (Pakistan) - SHOP owner Saeed Khan has already buried one child killed in fighting between the Taleban and government forces in northwest Pakistan. He cannot bear to lose another.

So the 50-year-old bundled his wife, son and daughter onto a bus in the Taleban-infested town of Mingora in the Swat valley and hurried to the city of Peshawar, hoping for a future free from further bloodshed.
