Jury dismissed in bomb case

LONDON - THE JURY in the trial in Britain of eight Islamic fundamentalists accused of exploding bombs on transatlantic flights was discharged on Wednesday for legal reasons.

The trial had only begun on Tuesday. A new jury at the top-security Woolwich Crown Court in south London for the trial will be sworn in at an undetermined time.

British PM backs Goody

LONDON - BRITISH Prime Minister Gordon Brown voiced support and sympathy on Wednesday for Jade Goody, a reality television star who sparked a racism row with India who is now dying of cancer.

Woman to get hubby's sperm

ROME - PROMINENT Italian gynaecologist Severino Antinori will artificially inseminate a woman with the sperm of her comatose husband, in a first in Italy that has drawn Vatican criticism, press reports said on Wednesday.
