CAMBRIDGE - A PROTESTOR hurled a shoe at Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao as he gave a speech at Britain's Cambridge University on Monday, in a dramatic end to a five-nation tour of Europe.

In a clear echo of the Iraqi journalist who threw a shoe at George W. Bush in Baghdad in December, the 27-year-old Caucasian man shouted 'This is a scandal' as he interrupted Mr Wen from the back of the auditorium.

Snow shuts down London

LONDON - IT was hardly a blizzard, but it still shut down the city that beat the Blitz.

The biggest snowfall to hit London in 18 years idled the city's trademark red buses and Underground trains on Monday, stranded thousands of airline passengers, and raised the vexing question of why a predicted winter storm caught authorities so unprepared.

Saudi issues wanted list

RIYADH - SAUDI Arabia on Monday issued a list of 83 wanted militants based overseas and called on them to turn themselves in to authorities and 'return to a normal life'.

Saudi television read the names and showed photographs of the wanted men, all Saudis except for two Yemenis, who it said had 'adopted the straying ideology', a reference to Al-Qaeda.
