GENEVA - AN INTERNATIONAL agreement against climate change could hinge around steps to ease the transfer of green technology to developing countries, a Brazilian official said on Monday.

His comments at a World Intellectual Property Organisation conference came amid signs of a rift between rich and poor nations over the best approach to take on patented technology that can be used to tackle global warming.

 
Weather issue for Nasa launch

CAPE CANAVERAL - NASA has starting loading 1.9 million liters of liquid hydrogen and oxygen into space shuttle Endeavour, but the weather forecast is not good.

If the weather cooperates, launch is scheduled for 6:51pm EDT Monday (22:51 GMT).

Early testing on Office 2010

SEATTLE - MICROSOFT Corp is giving a select group of technology-savvy testers an early peek at Office 2010, but it is still keeping Web-based versions of Word, Excel and its other go-to programs under wraps.

Office 2010 is due out in the early part of next year. Microsoft is adding more ways for people to work simultaneously on documents, organise their e-mail and edit videos and photos, among other changes.
