CAPE CANAVERAL (Florida) - NASA has cancelled Saturday's launch attempt of space shuttle Endeavour on a construction mission to the International Space Station to assess possible damage from overnight lightning strikes, officials said.

 
N.Korea behind cyber attacks

SEOUL - NORTH Korea's military is behind a series of cyber attacks against South Korean and US websites that slowed or disabled access by saturating them with traffic this week, a South Korean news report said on Saturday.

The attacks on dozens of US and South Korean government and business sites appeared to have all but ceased as of Friday but have crippled hundreds of personal computers that had been turned into 'zombies' when they were enlisted for the attacks.

Low-cost gaming a hit

SAN FRANCISCO - US VIDEOGAME lovers are adapting to tough economic times by turning to low-cost online play, according to figures released on Friday by industry tracker comScore.

Some 87 million US Internet users visited online videogame websites in May, a 22 per cent increase from the same month last year, according to comScore.

El Nino is here

NEW YORK - WHAT meteorologists have suspected for weeks now is apparently official: El Nino has arrived.

The US government has warned that that a dreaded El Nino weather pattern is developing, putting countries from Asia to North America on alert for meteorological havoc to crops, infrastructure, ports and mines.
