CAPE CANAVERAL (Florida) - COUNTDOWN clocks at the Kennedy Space Centre in Florida began ticking toward Monday's launch of shuttle Atlantis on a final servicing call to the Hubble Space Telescope, officials said on Friday.

'Hello Florida, it's great to be here - at last,' shuttle commander Scott Altman told reporters shortly after he and his crew arrived at the spaceport late Friday afternoon. 'It's been a long road to get here. We're all thrilled.'

 
Tamiflu useful up to 7 years

LONDON - THE European Medicines Agency says Tamiflu, the antiviral drug used to fight swine flu, should have its shelf life extended from five to seven years.

SYDNEY - AN AUSTRALIAN news website reported on Friday that Facebook has begun blocking private messages.

The technology blog written by News Limited journalist Andrew Ramadge stated that Facebook 'has started censoring private messages sent between users to block out internet nasties'.
