Jailed hacker supported by boss

LOS ANGELES - THE search engine Mahalo has expressed regret that one of their employees has sentenced to prison for hacking.

Mahalo hired John Schiefer without being aware of his cyber crimes, and regretted seeing him sentenced this week to four years in prison, founder Jason Calacanis said in a message posted online.

'World's cheapest mobile'

VENEZUELA - THE world's 'cheapest mobile phone' will go on sale in May for $US14 ($21.57) with a handset that includes an mp3 player, radio and camera.

Venezuela's President Hugo Chavez unveiled the phone - named "El Vergatario" - on Friday, saying it would be produced by a joint Venezuelan-Chinese firm and marketed across Latin America and the Caribbean.

Oldest sea turtle fossil unveiled

MEXICO CITY - PALEONTOLOGISTS on Thursday unveiled the oldest fossil remains of a sea turtle that lived 72 million years ago in northern Mexico, the National Institute of Anthropology and History (INAH) said.

'It is the oldest sea turtle of its kind and it belongs to the chelonia family. The oldest specimen of this species up to now was 65 million years old and was found in New Jersey, United States,' the INAH said in a statement.
