WASHINGTON - GOOGLE is making its vast online library of books available for mobile phones.

'We are excited to announce the launch of a mobile version of Google Book Search, opening up over 1.5 million mobile public domain books in the US (and over half a million outside the US) for you to browse,' the company said

 
Highest-density memory chip

SEOUL - SOUTH Korea's Hynix Semiconductor announced on Sunday it has developed the world's highest-density memory chip using the thinnest process technology.

The new Hynix DDR3 DRAM (dynamic random access memory) chip adopts a technology that allows circuits inside to be just 40 nanometres apart - a fifth thinner than at present.

New delay for shuttle launch

WASHINGTON - THE space shuttle Discovery's mission to the International Space Station (ISS) has been again delayed until no sooner than February 22 for testing of three flow control valves, Nasa said on Saturday.

The launch had originally been scheduled for blastoff from Cape Canaveral, Florida on Feb 12 and was earlier pushed to Feb 19.

Computer: No nukes for Iran

LONG BEACH, California - A VETERAN consultant to US spy agencies predicted on Saturday that Iran won't build nuclear bombs and that the power of its president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad will quickly fade.

The projections are based on a gaming and computer model built by political scientist Bruce Bueno de Mesquita, an advisor to the Central Intelligence Agency and the Department of Defense.
