LONDON - ARSENE Wenger has warned Arsenal's stars that they must qualify from their Champions League group in first place.

Wenger's side can effectively book their spot in the knockout stages with a win over Dutch champions AZ Alkmaar at the Emirates Stadium on Wednesday, but the Arsenal boss won't be satisfied with that.

New rules to target club debt

LONDON - ENGLISH Premier League clubs and others must stop amassing huge debts and new regulations will be drawn up to regulate team finances, Uefa president Michael Platini said on Tuesday.

In an interview in The Daily Telegraph the Frenchman said a Uefa committee would meet next week to begin devising new rules to protect the financial welfare of European clubs.

Rooneys take baby home

LIVERPOOL - WAYNE Rooney and his wife Coleen were all smiles on Tuesday as they left hospital with their first baby, Kai Wayne.

The Manchester United and England striker and his childhood sweetheart left Liverpool Women's Hospital in north-west England the day after their son was born.
