NUERBURGRING (Germany) - AUSTRALIAN Mark Webber kept Formula One leader Jenson Button off the top of the timesheets in Friday's first German Grand Prix practice.

The Red Bull driver, still chasing a first grand prix victory after 129 starts, lapped the Nuerburgring circuit in chilly and damp conditions with a best time of one minute, 33.082 seconds.

 
Kroenke increases Arsenal stake

LONDON - US SPORTS stycoon Stan Kroenke has increased his stake in English Premier League soccer club Arsenal to 28.58 per cent, the club said on Friday.

Arsenal issued a statement saying Kroenke, who joined the club's board last year and became the largest shareholder in May, paid 1.5 million pounds (S$3.57 million) for another 160 shares at 8,500 pounds each.

NUERBURGRING (Germany) - FORMULA One drivers should be allowed to emulate MotoGP riders and celebrate in front of the fans on the track after races, world champion Lewis Hamilton said on Thursday.

The Briton delighted his home supporters at Silverstone last month when he performed several 'doughnuts', spinning the car in a wheel-smoking circle, after he finished well out of the points.
