MADRID - SPAIN'S King Juan Carlos and Prime Minister Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero will attend the Champions League final on Wednesday between Barcelona and Manchester United in Rome, their offices said.

King Juan Carlos will meet with Italian President Giorgio Napolitano before the match at the Stadio Olimpico, the royal palace said in a statement.

THE HAGUE - RISING Austrian football star Marko Arnautovic has agreed terms with Englsih Premiership giants Chelsea according to press reports on Monday.

The 20-year-old international - scorer of 14 goals for Twente this season - has according to sources close to the player, cited in the press, agreed to sign a contract with them beating off competition from Italian champions Inter Milan.

DUBLIN - MILITANT Protestant supporters of a Scottish football team beat to death a Roman Catholic man in the latest sign of how sports rivalries inspire sectarian bloodshed in Northern Ireland, police and politicians said Monday.

Witnesses said more than 20 Protestant supporters of Glasgow Rangers, many of them wearing the team's blue-and-white jerseys and scarves, drove into a Catholic district of the town of Coleraine after Rangers clinched the Scottish Premier League championship Sunday.

Gordon Strachan quits Celtic

GLASGOW - GORDON Strachan quit as Celtic manager on Monday after his side failed to clinch a fourth straight Scottish league title.

The former Scotland midfielder led Celtic to the championship in each of his first three seasons with the Glasgow club but the Bhoys finished four points behind city rival Rangers after winning just one of the last four games.
