MANCHESTER - LIVERPOOLS'S shirt sponsor Carlsberg is keen on buying the naming rights for the English club's new stadium as the brewer renegotiates its current deal, reporters has learned.

The Danish beer brand's ties with the Reds stretch back to 1991, making it the Premier League's longest commercial partnership.

He is coming off a three-month suspension resulting from a picture showing him with a marijuana pipe.

Perez for Real presidency

MADRID - Florentino Perez, the man who turned Real Madrid from an old-fashioned soccer club into a star-studded global marketing project, announced on Thursday that he will run for president in this summer's election.

Mr Perez will present himself for the club's June 14 vote with the intention of returning glory to the club three years after quitting his post.

Buffon commits to Juve

MILAN - GIANLUIGI Buffon will stay at Juventus next season despite a period of turmoil at the club, the Italy goalkeeper said on Thursday.
