1,500 doping tests planned

BERLIN - ORGANIZERS of the athletics world championships in August plan to conduct more than 1,500 doping tests.

The cost of the tests will be about euro 300,000 (US$408,000) and the procedure will involve 16 international testers, said Heinrich Clausen, the managing director of the organizing committee.

Marshall signs for Cardiff

LONDON - GOALKEEPER David Marshall has become the first player to leave Norwich following their relegation to the third tier of English football.

The Scotland international signed for Championship side Cardiff for an undisclosed fee, two years after joining from Celtic in a one-million-pound deal.

Akhtar to miss training camp
