LONDON - ARSENAL'S Andrei Arshavin scored four goals in a pulsating 4-4 draw at Anfield on Tuesday to dent Liverpool's Premier League title push.

The Russian, Arsenal's record signing, appeared to have won an incredible contest for the visitors after a lightning counter-attack in the 90th minute only for Yossi Benayoun to grab a stoppage-time equaliser for Liverpool.

 
AC Milan drops Emerson

ROME - FORMER Brazil midfielder Emerson has had his contract with AC Milan terminated with immediate effect for personal reasons, the club said on its official website.

The 33-year-old had been a periferal figure in the Milan set-up this season making just three starts and nine substitute appearances in Serie A.

NBA's top defensive player

ORLANDO - ORLANDO Magic center Dwight Howard is the NBA's defensive player of the year after becoming only the fifth player to lead the league in blocks and rebounds in the same season.

The announcement was made on Tuesday.

Racism time-outs proposed

ROME - UEFA BOSS Michel Platini revealed on Tuesday that European football bosses are considering suspending matches for 10 minutes if fans take part in racist chanting.
