LONDON - ARSENE Wenger has told his Arsenal stars to ignore the transfer speculation swirling around the club and concentrate on giving their all during a month that will define their season.

Gunners captain Cesc Fabregas, who returns from three months out injured against Manchester City on Saturday, is widely expected to attract big-money bids from both Barcelona and Real Madrid this summer.

 
Rangers axe Ferguson

GLASGOW (Scotland) - BARRY Ferguson was stripped of the Rangers' captaincy on Friday, three days after being dropped by Scotland because of a late-night drinking spree with team-mate Allan McGregor.

Ferguson and goalkeeper McGregor were both sent home from training and dropped from Walter Smith's squad for Sunday's trip to Falkirk.

Drogba out for next match

COBHAM (England) - CHELSEA striker Didier Drogba is hoping to be fit to play in the Champions League quarterfinal against Liverpool on Wednesday despite being ruled out of the match against Newcastle because of an ankle injury.

Cronje to leave Biarritz

BIARRITZ (France) - SOUTH African No 8 Jacques Cronje is to leave French first division club Biarritz for Racing Metro, the Basque side announced on Friday.

The 26-year-old Cronje, capped 32 times by the Springboks, has been out for more than three months this season because of a badly twisted ankle that saw him miss four of Biarritz's European Cup games.
