LONDON - ENGLAND'S Premier League could be looking for a new sponsor in 2010 after Barclays bank began a review of its worldwide sports deals.

Britain's third largest bank has held naming rights to the league since 2001 but its current three-year, 65 million-pound (S$144 million) deal ends at the end of the 2009-10 season.

 
India calls off Pakistan tour

MOHALI (India) - INDIA'S scheduled tour of Pakistan next month was called off on government advice Thursday following last month's Mumbai terrorist attacks.

Susilo to retire by 2010

AFTER 10 years as one of Singapore's most recognisable sportsmen, Ronald Susilo is set to hang up his badminton racket for good.

The Indonesia-born ace intends to retire from the national team by 2010 to focus on his career after sport.

Best AYG event possible

WITH just 28 weeks till the start of the inaugural Asian Youth Games (AYG) in Singapore, organisers are facing a race to stage the best event possible.

While AYG Singapore 2009 project team co-director Ng Eng Soon gave assurances that the Games will be delivered on time and that preparations are on track, he stressed that expectations of the service standards at the Games should be pegged to that of a regional youth age group standard.
