THE Housing and Development Board (HDB) will offer 8,000 new flats this year, or more if the pick up is stronger, said National Development Minister Mah Bow Tan on Wednesday.

Mr Mah said the Board is monitoring demand and will 'calibrate its supply of new flats' to meet some of that demand, but not all.

Precautions for public transport

PUBLIC transport operators and taxi companies are taking precautions against the new flu strain, so commuters need not avoid taking buses, trains or taxis if they are well, the Land Transport Authority (LTA) said on Wednesday.

Unwilling tenants move out

MOST of the remaining tenants who refused to sign new tenancy contracts at the Grangeford Apartments have vacated the building after their new landlord cut off the power and water two days ago.
