SINGAPORE on Friday confirmed 50 new cases (316th to 365th cases) of Influenza A (H1N1), bringing the total tally to 365 confirmed cases. In addition to these 50 new cases, 48 other cases were pending investigation on Thursday.

Of these 98 cases, 45 have been investigated, and they comprise 32 local cases, and 13 imported cases. The remaining 53 cases are still being investigated.

 
Electricity prices to go up

RUNNING the air-conditioner to beat the heat over the next three months will cost $1.50 to $15.20 more a month.

Electricity prices here will go up by about 7 per cent from Wednesday, on the back of increasing fuel oil prices, said utilities services provider SP Services on Friday. From next month, three-room households will pay about $4 more a month in power bills, and five-room households, about $6 more.
