THE family in Singapore is undergoing change, but this does not suggest that the young have become unwilling to look after the elderly.

Minister in the Prime Minister's Office Lim Boon Heng said this on Saturday, when he was asked to comment on a recent survey.

 
A natural history museum?

FOR many Singaporeans over the age of 40, memories of the old National Museum invariably linger over one particular exhibit: a blue whale skeleton that once loomed from the ceiling near the entrance.

It is, however, no longer in Singapore.

Safety zone for victims

IT IS not a room you would expect in a police station.

The window blinds are in a pastel shade of blue, a plastic children's slide sits in a corner, soft toys are littered everywhere, and there is rubber alphabet matting on the floor.

New 'Charter' in S'pore

IT only takes a spark to spread the message of love, and a group of local civil society activists is doing just that.

Sparked by an international campaign called The Charter for Compassion, the local movement aims to promote values such as compassion, mutual respect and tolerance.
