TECHIE or not, hundreds braved traffic jams both vehicular and human to buy their tech at Singapore's annual PC Show that started on Thursday and flying off the shelves are products that are either ultra-thin, ultra-small and ultra-compact.

Such slim tech is seeing strong demand, says The PC Show organiser Lines Exposition and Management Services.

 
3 children are new H1N1 cases

SINGAPORE confirmed six new cases of A(H1N1) Influenza on Friday, including three children.

The children are aged 3, 6 and 7 years old; all three children have travelled from Melbourne, Australia.

A 6-year-old Australian boy and his 7-year-old sister arrived in Singapore from Melbourne for a holiday on Thursday. Along with other family members, the children travelled on Qantas flight QF9 and were seated in row 53.

Dead woman's ID still unknown

THE identity of a woman found floating face down in the sea off Tanah Merah Coast Road in February is still a mystery.

Beware the DIY biohacker

SCIENTIFICALLY inclined youngsters are setting up do-it- yourself biology laboratories at home. Likened to self-trained computer hackers, these enthusiasts - self-styled biohackers - browse online catalogues of DNA parts and order them from small commercial labs. With self-modified household items and used equipment acquired online, they try to tweak bacteria or synthesise novel organisms in their free time.
