After a court appearance on Tuesday, neither former local actor Lin Yisheng, nor the Ministry of Manpower (MOM) or even the Subordinate Courts, were sure if charges had been laid against him for allegedly not paying wages to some of his employees.

 
Jobs Credit a 'strategic' move

LABOUR chief Lim Swee Say on Tuesday rebutted criticisms that the Government should have cut the employers' Central Provident Fund contribution rate instead of having the Jobs Credit wage support scheme as a way to save jobs.

The latter would achieve more than a CPF cut, he said, and it would also strengthen the trust that now exists among the tripartite partners - the Government, workers, and employers.

New scheme aids 200 families

Man found with others' cards

AN OBSERVANT resident helped police arrest a man for fraudulant possession on Tuesday.

A Malaysian man, 22, was spotted around lunch-time loitering in the carpark of Blk 113 Jurong East by Mr Muhammad Nor Helmi, a resident.
