MUSLIMS in Singapore gathered across the island on Monday to mark Hari Raya Haji, the Festival of Sacrifice. At the Al-Amin Mosque in Telok Blangah, more than 2,000 people came together for prayers. Senior Minister of State (Foreign Affairs) Mr Zainul Abidin Rasheed joined the session, led by the Mufti of Singapore, Syed Isa b Mohd Semait.

Wife of ex-NKF chair guilty

HONG KONG - THE wife of former NKF chairman Richard Yong pleaded guilty here on Monday to a charge of money laundering, more than a year after she and her husband were arrested in the territory.

On Shu Kio, who had been out on bail since her indictment on Aug 31 last year, was remanded in custody following her conviction. Sentencing was adjourned to next Tuesday.
