Luxury drug lab in condo

BALIK PULAU (Malaysia) - DRUG-PROCESSING laboratories have gone high-rise, with a dash of luxury.

A few months ago, a syndicate rented a luxury condominium unit in the Queensbay area near here, to double as a heroin-processing laboratory and avoid police detection.

Private hospital for Sabah

KOTA KINABALU - CHIEF Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman has given a directive for the private hospital at Wisma Khidmat to be set up as soon as possible.

He said the RM100 million (S$40 million) hospital, initiated by Sabah Credit Corporation (SCC), must be constructed immediately to alleviate the suffering of the people due to the acute shortage of medical facilities at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH).

Anwar fails to get delay in trial

KUALA LUMPUR - MALAYSIAN opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim failed on Wednesday to win a postponement in his sodomy trial after his chief lawyer was forced to withdraw due to illness.

The High Court ordered Anwar's legal team to proceed with the case, starting with an application to force the prosecution to disclose evidence including medical reports relating to the charges.
