Insurgents attack Thai bus

PATTANI (Thailand) - TWO suspected Muslim insurgents hurled a bomb at a bus in southern Thailand on Saturday, killing one passenger and wounding 13 others, police said, the latest in a spree of violence since a prayer-time massacre at a mosque nearly a week ago.

Philippines has 111 flu cases

MANILA - THE Philippine health secretary says the number of swine flu cases in the country has now topped 100 but all have shown mild symptoms.

Francisco Duque III said Saturday that 19 new cases have brought the total to 111. He says 38 have recovered.

Militants kill 5 marines

MANILA (Philippines) - AL-QAEDA-LINKED militants holding an Italian Red Cross worker captive killed five Philippine marines and wounded 10 others in an ambush on Saturday on a southern island. One police officer was wounded.
