MANILA - A PHILIPPINES anti-smuggling group says a Taiwanese businessman has been accused of extracting bronze from local coins to make parts for plumbing.

Asean summit from Oct 23-25

SEOGWIPO (South Korea) - THE Asian summit shut down by protesters in April will be held from Oct 23-25 on the Thai resort island of Phuket, Thai Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva said here on Tuesday.

Mr Abhisit announced the dates during a joint news conference with South Korean President Lee Myung Bak at the end of a summit between South Korea and the Association of South-east Asian Nations (Asean) in the southern island of Jeju.
