YANGON - MYANMAR authorities charged two supporters of pro-democracy icon Aung San Suu Kyi with insulting religion after they prayed at a pagoda for her release, a party spokesman said on Saturday.

 
Myanmar building new airport

YANGON - MYANMAR's military government is constructing a new international airport in the administrative capital Naypyidaw that will be able to handle 10.5 million passengers a year, state media said on Saturday.

Philippine-flagged vessel safe

MANILA - THE crew of a stranded Philippine-flagged chemical tanker recently freed by Somali pirates is safe, the Foreign Department said on Saturday, amid fears that the boat was attacked again.

'President' of disputed islands
