JAKARTA - A SHALLOW 5.9 magnitude quake hit Indonesia's North Sulawesi province just south of the Philippines Thursday, the geophysics agency said, but there were no immediate reports of casualties or damage.

M'sia drafts laws for maids

KUALA LUMPUR- MALAYSIA is drafting new laws to protect domestic workers from sexual harassment, non-payment of wages and poor working conditions, an official said on Thursday.

The move would provide the first legal protection for domestic workers in Malaysia - mostly from Indonesia - who are not covered by legislation that protects foreign workers in other sectors like construction.
