LONDON - INDONESIAN President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono has called on G-20 leaders not to ignore developing nations in their efforts to alleviate the global financial crisis.

Speaking at the London School of Economics on Tuesday ahead of this week's summit, Mr Yudhoyono has warned that the world will not recover if wealthy countries retreat into protectionism.

 
Serial killer eyes pop stardom

DEPOK (Indonesia) - FOR A man facing the death penalty, alleged serial killer Verry Idham Henyansyah reveals more than a little gallows humour in the title of his upcoming album, My Last Performance.

The smooth-faced 31-year-old has already achieved national infamy with his confessions to a series of grisly murders - including a mother and her toddler - and details of his life as a gay man in Muslim-majority Indonesia.

NAYPYIDAW (Myanmar) - MYANMAR Prime Minister Thein Sein on Tuesday urged businessmen to display unity with the country's military government ahead of elections planned for next year.

Courts order road cleared

BANGKOK - A THAI court has ordered anti-government demonstrators to clear a road they have blocked leading to the prime minister's office, setting up a possible confrontation between thousands of protesters and security forces.

Bangkok's Civil Court says in a statement that it issued an injunction late Tuesday ordering demonstrators to allow government workers to enter the Government House.
