KUCHING - A PROBE into allegations that Malaysia's first astronaut Sheikh Muszaphar Shukor Sheikh Mustapha has amassed RM1.2 million (S$503,470) from payments for the talks he gave on his experience in space will begin tomorrow.

Deputy Science, Technology and Innovation Minister Fadillah Yusof said yesterday that the investigation will be conducted by a committee to be set up after the deadline for receiving reports and complaints from the public ends today.

MANILA - PHILIPPINE President Gloria Arroyo's husband was discharged from hospital on Sunday, two days after he suffered severe abdominal pains, his doctor said.

Mr Jose Miguel Arroyo, 62, was accompanying the president on a flight to Peru for the Apec summit when he fell ill, forcing an emergency landing in Japan on Friday night.
