LONDON - EUROPEAN and Asian stock markets rose on Thursday after US shares rose for the fourth day running ahead of the Thanksgiving holiday. Indian markets were closed after deadly attacks in the country's financial capital.

 
US interbank lending rates up

LONDON - LENDING rates on dollar loans between banks increased again on Thursday, reversing a one-day improvement and suggesting that banks are again becoming concerned with funding their operations.

Oct money supply stable: ECB

FRANKFURT - THE European Central Bank said on Thursday that growth in the eurozone money supply was stable in October, another sign inflation was under control and interest rates could be lowered soon.

'Crisis has cost US$5 trillion'

PARIS - US$5 trillion (S$7.5 trillion) have been lost in the global financial crisis, the head of the Davos economic forum said on Thursday as he announced a record presence of world leaders at the conference in January.

Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin will give the opening speech at the World Economic Forum in the Swiss resort on January 28 where the theme will be 'Shaping The Post Crisis World", said its founder Klaus Schwab.
