COPPELIA

This comic ballet classic has been given an imaginative makeover by the Ballet du Grand Theatre de Geneve's choreographer Cisco Aznar. This multi-layered dance and theatre production features beehive hairdos and a Japanese geisha. The Straits Times Life! is the official newspaper for the festival.

THE 24TH SINGAPORE FRENCH FILM FESTIVAL

Watch Stavisky, a film by French director Alain Resnais based on the true story of a 1934 political scandal. Starring Jean-Paul Belmondo, it is about a con man who made his money by selling false bonds and is ruined following the discovery that the jewels given to him by an Empress were actually glass. This film is part of a tribute to Resnais at the festival which features more than 20 French movies.
