Indian musician Khan, 87, dies

SAN FRANCISCO - ALI Akbar Khan, who helped introduce North Indian classical music to the United States, has died. He was 87.

Arnie's midair drama

LOS ANGELES - A PLANE carrying California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger was forced to make a sudden landing on Friday after the pilot reported smoke in the cockpit, officials said.

Mr Schwarzenegger's spokesman Aaron McLear said the jet carrying the Hollywood action hero-turned-politician was forced to land approximately 10 minutes after taking off from Santa Monica Airport west of Los Angeles.

Obama pokes fun at dinner

WASHINGTON - PRESIDENT Barack Obama knows a little something about catching flies - knowledge he says he's using to help win over groups in solving America's health care crisis.

'I'm pleased that in our quest to reform the health care system, I have gained the support of the American Medical Association,' President Obama told the Radio and Television Correspondents' Association dinner Friday night.
