Dempsey in race warm-up

LE MANS (France) - AMERICAN actor Patrick Dempsey, best known for playing Dr Shepherd in the hit TV series 'Grey's Anatomy' span his Ferrari in warm-up on the Le Mans circuit on Saturday, just hours before the start of the 24-hour race.

The Ferrari spun at the Ford Chicane, just before the home straight, when Dempsey cut the inside of the corner.

'Slumdog' is Indian at heart

MACAU - IT had a British director and was hailed at the Oscars in Los Angeles, but the box office hit 'Slumdog Millionaire' is an Indian movie at heart because it embraces song and emotional expression, Bollywood filmmakers who worked on the production said on Saturday.

The rags-to-riches story of an orphan from the slums of Mumbai who wins the Indian version of 'Who Wants to be a Millionaire' won eight Oscars in February, including best picture and best director for Danny Boyle. It has earned more than US$350 million (S$508 million) worldwide.
