Blind pianist's albums soar

TOKYO - ALBUMS by a blind Japanese pianist have surged up the country's online charts since he won a prestigious US award at the weekend, online retailer Amazon Japan said on Wednesday.

Drawings will be tracked

PARIS - A SKETCHBOOK of 32 drawings by Pablo Picasso valued at eight million euros (S$16 million) has been stolen from a Paris museum, police said on Tuesday.

Thieves seized the sketchbook from an unlocked glass case at the National Picasso Museum in central Paris where officials discovered it missing on Tuesday morning.

'Slumdog' star's new home

MUMBAI (India) - THE makers of the hit movie 'Slumdog Millionaire' have bought a new home for one of the two child stars discovered in Mumbai's slums.

The purchase of a 23-square-metre one-bedroom apartment for the family of Azharuddin Mohammed Ismail, 10, was completed on Monday, said Nirja Mattoo, who helps oversee a trust set up by the filmmakers to help Azharuddin and his 9-year-old co-star Rubina Ali.
