BANGKOK - THE family of American actor David Carradine has asked the FBI to help investigate his death after his body was found in a hotel closet in Thailand's capital with a rope tied to his neck, wrist and genitals.

Carradine's family does not believe he committed suicide and is troubled by conflicting accounts about the circumstances of his death, Mr Mark Geragos, an attorney for brother Keith Carradine, told CNN's Larry King late on Friday.

 
Franco pulls out of speech

LOS ANGELES - ACTOR James Franco says he has dropped a plan to give a commencement speech at the University of California, Los Angeles, a move that may have been prompted by pressure from students.

Franco issued a statement saying he canceled his June 12 appearance because of conflicts with preproduction demands for his next film.

Bruno suit frivolous

LOS ANGELES - MOVIE studio Universal Pictures on Friday responded to a lawsuit filed earlier this week against its parent company and comedian Sacha Baron Cohen calling it 'frivolous' and saying its claims were 'baseless.'

California resident Richelle Olson sued Cohen and Universal Pictures' parent NBC Universal, the media division of General Electric Co, in Los Angeles Superior Court over an encounter with Cohen when he was filming his movie Bruno

Shoved ex-model, charged

GREENWICH - A SECURITY guard has been charged with shoving former model Stephanie Seymour into a door at her home in Connecticut.

Greenwich police tell the Greenwich Time newspaper that they arrested the guard, 50-year-old Joseph Babnik of Carmel, New York, on Thursday. He was given a misdemeanor summons on a disorderly conduct charge.
