NEW YORK - TWITTER, the Web site that asks what everybody's doing, says it wants to be doing a TV series.

The social-networking site has teamed with Reveille productions and Brillstein Entertainment Partners to develop an unscripted series based on the popular site, which invites 140-character postings from members around the world.

 
TV rapped for Obama joke

OTTAWA - CANADA'S public broadcaster was wrong to show a skit that joked about the possible assassination of US President Barack Obama and suggested he could be a thief, an industry panel ruled on Monday.

The New Year's Eve 'Bye Bye' comedy program - shown by the French-language Radio Canada network - generated more than 200 complaints.

'Museum' beats up Terminator

LOS ANGELES - BEN Stiller's 'Night at the Museum' sequel crushed the fourth installment of the 'Terminator' franchise in a battle for North American box office supremacy between two special-effects extravaganzas.

According to studio estimates issued on Monday, 'Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian' earned US$70 million (S$105 million) during the four days beginning on Friday, outperforming the expectations of its distributor, 20th Century Fox.

Boyle on Shanghai film jury

HONG KONG - SLUMDOG Millionaire director Danny Boyle will chair the competition jury at China's top international film festival in June, leading a panel that also includes actress Andie MacDowell and Infernal Affairs director Andrew Lau.
