MARSEILLE - STAR French couturier Pierre Cardin, aged 86, is to be released from a hospital in this Mediterranean city after a 48-hour stay caused by high blood pressure, a source close to the designer said on Wednesday.

LOS ANGELES - ACTOR David Hasslehoff's recent hospitalisation was not due to an alcohol overdose reported celebrity website TMZ on Wednesday.

According to the popular website, Mr Hasselhoff was at home with his daughter Hayley on Saturday but there was no arguement or fight.
