Phil Spector guilty of murder

LOS ANGELES - Legendary music producer Phil Spector was found guilty of second degree murder in the shooting death of an actress at his mansion in Los Angeles five years ago.

Spector, 69, who created the famed 'Wall of Sound' recording technique during the 1960s when he worked with some of the biggest names in music, stared glumly as the verdict was read out.

MJ sale to go ahead

BEVERLY HILLS - A HOTLY anticipated sale of Michael Jackson memorabilia will go ahead as planned, organisers vowed on Monday, as they lifted the veil on a a treasure trove of items from the Neverland Ranch of the eccentric former 'King of Pop.'

Martin Nolan, executive director of Julien's Auctions in Hollywood, said that despite legal action from Jackson's production company seeking to halt the April 22-25 sale, the auction would proceed.

Gibson's wife wants divorce

LOS ANGELES - COURT records show Mel Gibson's wife has filed for divorce after 28 years of marriage.

Robyn Gibson filed the petition in Los Angeles, citing irreconcilable differences.
