NEW YORK - LIAM Neeson looked distraught on Friday as he greeted grieving family members and friends who attended a private viewing for his wife, actress Natasha Richardson, who died after falling on a ski slope.

Neeson and sons - Micheal, 13, and Daniel, 12 - attended the Upper East Side's American Irish Historical Society, along with Richardson's mother, Vanessa Redgrave, and sister, Joely Richardson.

Christie's sued over low price

NEW YORK - THE owner of a painting by Francis Bacon sued Christie's auction house on Friday for not living up to a guaranteed US$40 million (S$60.6 million) minimum selling price for the Irish-born artist's piece Study for Self Portrait.

Weiss Family Art LLC, which owns the 1964 self-portrait, sued Christie's for breach of contract in a lawsuit filed in Manhattan federal court, seeking damages in an amount to be determined at trial.

Hero pilot in book deals

NEW YORK - CHESLEY 'Sully' Sullenberger, who brought a crippled US Airways jet to a textbook emergency landing on New York City's Hudson River, will write a book about his life, but he won't give up flying.

Publisher William Morrow said on Friday the pilot would work with a writer to produce two books.
