LONDON - WELSH singer Duffy made the early running at the Brit music awards on Wednesday, taking the British female and breakthrough act prizes in the early stages of the annual celebration of pop.

The 24-year-old, who also won a pop vocal album Grammy for 'Rockferry' in the United States 10 days ago, has been nominated in four categories at Britain's top music honours.

 
White Stripes to play again

NEW YORK - FOR the first time since they cancelled their UK tour in 2007, rock group White Stripes will play live again.

According to a BBC report, Jack and Meg White will perform on the NBC talk show Late Night With Conan O'Brien on Feb 20.
