LONDON - THE world's favorite 'silly old bear' is back.

Publishers in Britain and the United States said on Friday they will publish a new book of Winnie-the-Pooh adventures on Oct 5. 'Return to the Hundred Acre Wood' is the first authorised sequel to A. A. Milne's Pooh stories, which were first published in the 1920s.

Asterix to outlive his creator

PARIS - ASTERIX, the pint-sized Gallic warrior and comic-book hero, is to outlive his creator under a deal with the 81-year-old illustrator Albert Uderzo announced by his publisher on Friday.

Uderzo, who has created the Asterix books single-handed since the death of co-author Rene Goscinny in 1977, has given his consent for the publisher Albert-Rene to keep the character alive after his death.
