THE unusual frenzy in private home sales till September this year is fast winding down, as launches slow.

It should be a short lull before new launches kick in from late February, after Chinese New Year. Next year, however, is expected to see a steadier and calmer pace.

Abu Dhabi to aid Dubai 8:53 PM

ABU DHABI - ABU Dhabi, wealthy capital of the United Arab Emirates, will 'pick and choose' how to assist debt-laden neighbour Dubai, a senior official said on Saturday, after fears of a Dubai default sent global markets reeling.

'We will look at Dubai's commitments and approach them on a case-by-case basis. It does not mean that Abu Dhabi will underwrite all of their debts,' the official in the government of the emirate of Abu Dhabi told Reuters by phone.

MIAMI - POLICE in Florida plan to question Tiger Woods on Saturday about the events surrounding a car accident outside the golf champion's house, CNN reported.

Woods, the world's top golfer and a major sports marketing star, hit a fire hydrant and tree early on Friday as he pulled his Cadillac Escalade out of the driveway of his house in Windermere, Florida, near Orlando, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

Terrorists attacked train 9:56 PM

UGLOVKA (Russia) - A BOMB derailed an elite passenger train speeding through the forest from Moscow to Saint Petersburg, killing up to 39 people and injuring nearly 100, Russian officials said on Saturday.

'We are indeed talking about a terrorist attack,' Mr Vladimir Markin, spokesman for the federal investigative committee, was quoted as saying by Interfax news agency. The committee said it had found bomb fragments at the scene.
