HELSINKI - IT'S five times larger than the Titanic, has seven neighbourhoods, an ice rink, a golf course and a 750-seat outdoor amphitheater. The world's largest cruise ship is finally finished and beginning to glide toward its home port in Florida.

The Oasis of the Seas will meet its first obstacle Saturday when it exits the Baltic Sea and must squeeze under the Great Belt Bridge, which is just 1 foot (30 centimetres) taller than the ship - even after its telescopic smokestacks are lowered.

US economy recovering 6:07 PM

WASHINGTON - PRESIDENT Barack Obama used his weekly radio address on Saturday to tell Americans that this week's positive job and economic growth figures are yet more evidence that the US economy is recovering.

But he cautioned 'we have a long way to go before we return to prosperity' and more job losses were likely in coming days.

'A grateful nation will never forget your sacrifice,' declared an ad placed by the petroleum ministry, one of several government departments that funded notices honouring Gandhi, who was known as India's 'Iron Lady.'

Mirinae hits Philippines 5:14 PM

MANILA - TYPHOON Mirinae smashed through the Philippines overnight, killing at least four people and worsening floods in areas that were struggling to recover from recent deadly storms, officials said on Saturday.

One man was found dead and his one-year-old baby was missing after they were washed away while trying to cross an overflowing creek in a rural area on the outskirts of Manila, the military said.
