MIRANSHAH (Pakistan) - A MISSILE believed to have been fired by a US drone killed five militants on Friday in a Pakistani tribal region known as a haven for Taliban and al Qaeda fighters, intelligence officials said.

The missile struck a house in Razmak, about 30 km south of Miranshah, the main town of North Waziristan.

 
Train rams into bus, 4 dead

DHAKA (Bangladesh) - A SPEEDING passenger train rammed into a bus packed with members of a bridal party Friday in southwestern Bangladesh, killing four people including three children, a domestic news agency said.

The United News of Bangladesh agency reported that 10 others were injured in the accident at an unmanned railway crossing in Jessore district, 136 kilometers west of the capital, Dhaka.

Japan watching Chinese navy

TOKYO - JAPAN said Friday vigilance was needed on China's naval activities and the risk that North Korean leader Kim Jong-Il's ailing health could lead to instability in the nuclear-armed state.

'We need to keep watch of China's maritime activities,' the defence ministry said in an annual white paper.

No talks until Mumbai justice

NEW DELHI- INDIA'S premier reassured parliament on Friday that there would be no resumption of formal peace talks with Pakistan until Islamabad brings those behind last year's Mumbai's attacks to justice.
