HONG KONG - TWO bottles of acid were thrown into a crowd on a popular downtown shopping district in Hong Kong on Saturday, injuring 30 people, according to police and news reports.

Television footage showed firefighters washing off victims' arms and legs before sending them to hospitals for treatment. Some had holes in their clothing.

Bomb kills 7 in Pakistan

PESHAWAR (Pakistan) - AT LEAST seven people were killed and about 30 wounded on Saturday in a suspected car bomb blast in the northwestern Pakistani city of Peshawar, officials said.

The blast came as the Pakistani military was battling Taleban militants in a northwestern valley.
