MUMBAI - INDIAN police will question two jailed members of an Islamist militant group over whether they scouted Mumbai landmarks before last month's deadly attacks on the financial hub, a senior police officer said on Wednesday.

 
Death for human traffickers

BEIJING - A COURT in south-west China has sentenced three leading members of a trafficking ring to death for kidnapping and selling 88 women and a child, state press said on Wednesday.

The 29-member ring kidnapped the women with the lure of jobs on a tea plantation, before selling them as brides to impoverished areas in the provinces of Shanxi, Fujian and Zhejiang, the Xinhua news agency said.

Kids protest UN action

KARACHI (Pakistan) - MORE than 100 children have rallied against the United Nations for branding the Pakistani charity that runs their schools a terrorist front.

The girls and boys protesting on Wednesday in Karachi claim the UN's move is hampering their studies.

Japan arrests Vietnamese pilot

TOKYO - A VIETNAM Airlines pilot was arrested on Wednesday in Japan for allegedly trying to smuggle home goods stolen by pickpockets in an apparent million-dollar crime ring, police said.
